Quarry blasting is a process that applied to the extraction of natural resources and materials intended to be used in various sectors of construction.

Materials which are mined by blasting are: marble, granite, limestone and others.

These materials are generally characterized as inert materials. Their characteristics are extremely high strength and stability. These properties make them extremely valuable in the construction sector as their use ensures the structural stability and durability of the constructions. It is important to mention that materials such as granite and marble present a high aesthetic as well as commercial value.

Why is blasting in a quarry an ideal choice?

With the blasting method we achieve the detachment and then the extraction of particularly large volumes of rock. This would not be possible by any conventional method. So we have many advantages some of which are shown below:

The prescribed procedure for carrying out a blasting in a quarry consists of strictly defined steps. These contribute to the efficient and safe completion of the process.

First, a detailed inspection of each quarry is carried out in order to plan actions such as determining the appropriate materials. This is how we create a plan - a pattern for the correct placement of the explosives. Then, the necessary holes are made at the predetermined points and the explosives are placed. The explosives are then connected to the central firing system. After this step is completed, firing and detonation take place. Finally, after the completion of this process we proceed to the removal of the materials.

Blasting in quarries provides a solution and increases overall rock productivity in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
